It was on the world news that Cyclone Pam has battered South Pacific Islands on 13th March, 2015. Vanuatu was one of the countries much affected by the Cyclone including Tuvalu. Although compare to Vanuatu, Tuvalu was still way much better but the peoples were really in need of help as well. Especially those who are living in outer islands such as Nanumea, Nui, Nanumaga, Vaitupu, etc. The Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has requested National President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Tuvalu to give the report of those who were affected by the Cyclone in Tuvalu. After receiving the report, Huzoor (May Allah be his Helper) has instructed Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Tuvalu to respond as soon as possible by organizing the humanitarian aid for Tuvaluans.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth of Tuvalu has formed up a team to deliver the humanitarian aid for 4 Islands. Those islands are Nanumea, Niutao, Nanumaga and Nui. The team has departed to 3 different islands on 16th April, 2015 in order to deliver the humanitarian aid for Tuvaluans who are living in those 3 islands. There were 4 khuddam (youth) who have gone by the ferryboat to deliver the food stuffs (i.e rice, sugar, flour, can foods, etc) for Ahmadis and non Ahmadis as well. They had traveled for a week on the boat. Alhamdolillah, Jama’at was able to help more than 70 peoples who are living in those 3 islands. Mujeeb Ahmad Falah sahib, the team Leader said that the peoples were so happy to receive the aid from the Jama’at. They were so grateful for what Jama’at has done.
A team has departed for the second mission on 12th May, 2015. Mujeeb Ahmad Falah sahib and Willykona sahib were responsible to deliver the second humanitarian aid for Tuvaluans in Nui. Alhamdulillah, although the ferryboat has got problem with the engine, but they the aid reached successfully for Ahmadis in Nui. The boat was supposed to travel to another island, but because of engine problem, the boat has returned back directly to Funafuti, the capital of Tuvalu. By the grace of Allah, all the humanitarian aid has been delivered to the victims of Cyclone Pam. It helps more than 80 peoples in 4 islands.
The humanitarian aid which has been organised by Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Tuvalu was able to help Ahmadis and non Ahmadis as well. Although Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Tuvalu is only a small community, but with the grace of Allah the Almighty, Jama’at could extend the humanitarian assitance for those who are really in need of help without any discrimination. This is all the fulfilment of the message of Islam which is love and sympathy towards the creatures of Allah. This is also the manifestation of the Ahmadiyya motto “Love for All, Hatred for None”.
